All Hallows Eve

Image
Been a bit crazy with work stuff so I haven’t even made a pumpkin or decorated for Halloween this year! Shit, the kids are seriously just lucky I even have candy to give them.  In past years I have made some fun pumpkins for the “races” here at the beach… This year all I could manage was some “skull” nail art. Some years are just like that… Have a safe & awesome Halloween!

LA Street Art

Image
While this may not be a Banksy, it is definitely cool. Trying to find out who the street artist is. Made me spin around in heavy traffic when I saw it, race to pull over near it, whip out my iPhone and start snapping away. This all lead to a great conversation with a random stranger about street art. Glad I stopped for 5 minutes to see  this (as it could be painted over within days…) and meet someone new. Art has a way of doing that to you.

Lust & Love

instagram by me /   Brad Pitt photo by Steven Klein for Interview Magazine. Brad is wearing a jacket and shirt by Greg Lauren I had the insane pleasure of pulling the raddest apparel from Greg Lauren for an upcoming celebrity shoot I am doing. These are the types of days I live for. Seeing every piece in the new spring line up close and personal. Meeting with a designer that is doing super interesting pieces and is nice enough to meet with me himself.  Totally lusting after everything … Thanks Greg!

C You in....

Image
Sometimes it’s about having fun and not taking fashion so seriously. UNIF does that for me. Plus I just like walking around with the words “C You In Chanhell” on my tee – it says it all so I don’t have too. unif tee / zara pants / givenchy studded cuff / prada sandals  =  a pretty “basic” outfit when seeing the The Black Keys perform. It was a rockin’ night.

Pink Is For Kids

Image
The IT’S NOT ABOUT PRETTY board I designed for the non-profit, Board Rescue is now up for auction on Ebay. I hope people will pass around the link and bid (if they are so inclined) all money raised is used to help get skateboards and safety gear for at risk & underprivileged kids. A cause that I believe in 100%. Here is the Ebay – CLICK HERE Why a PINK skateboard ??? This year my board is about reminding young girls that “IT’S NOT ABOUT PRETTY“. I strongly feel that young girls/young women need to be gently reminded that life is not about jus t being PRETTY it’s about being PRETTY KICKASS no matter what you choose to do. More Info: The board is one of a kind, hand done & signed by me, it’s bubblegum pink, with gold “punk style” lettering, it has the anarchy symbol to remind you to “live balls to the wall” and the tail of the board is purposely all scratched up, because it sure the hell isn’t about being pink, pristine, and pretty.

Guy Style

Photos: Jorge Salas  My assistants and I showed up on a recent Asics shoot feeling all badass about what we were wearing, but then Tony & Marc rolled in, and we decided they kicked our ass style wise. And I just knew they needed to be featured on the blog.   Damn boys, always trying to show us up… On Marc: F21 sweater, Salt Valley for UO shirt, Anchor Blue pants, glasses by 9Five, Watch Aldo, Shoes Asics Onitsuka Tiger “OG Vintage 78” On Tony:   Shirt J.Crew, Pants  J. Crew , Watch Casio, Shoes Asics Onitsuka Tiger “fencing shoe” DISCLAIMER:  Tony and Marc & our photographer Jorge had to be coerced into doing these photos for me. They thought I was crazy (which we all know I am) but what I loved was they didn’t even realize how rad their personal style was – how cool is that?

Pretty? I think NOT.

Photos Ian Logan OK it’s not just another “outfit” post – I swear.   Ian was nice enough to take some rad shots of me with the board I designed this year for Board Rescue so I guess it’s a fashion x skate post.  Board Rescue is a cause that I believe in, and it’s a total honor to be along side of some of my peers in the skateboard industry designing a board for this event again. In fact I can’t wait to see what the other skaters/artists have designed – it’s always a really cool mixture of ideas, styles and things that just blow me away! All boards will be up for auction via ebay starting October 15  (ebay seller ID BOARDRESCUE).  I hope you have a chance to drop by check them  out! Be There Or Be Lame

Board Rescue’s event is coming up this weekend – so if you are anywhere near Santa Cruz you should definitely check it out. A lot of us old school pro skaters and artists get together and design a one of a kind skateboard or art piece to be auctioned off via ebay. All proceeds benefit Board Rescue , a non-profit that provides skateboards & safety equipment to organizations that work with children, targeting low income & ask risk youth. Tomorrow I will post pics u the board I designed. I am pretty stoked with how it came out and can’t wait to see if it brings in some money for the kids! There are some pretty amazing boards and people in this show.

Bright Lights, Big City

Photos Michael Khachadoorian How bitchin’ are these new ViZiPro jackets by Saucony ? We were doing this shoot in downtown LA at night and I just keep thinking – so RAD! And I have to tell you it was well worth staying up past my usual bedtime to have a blast shooting with this crew. Yeah I know, my life is tough some days… Shout outs to Jessie for being such a cool chick, Michael for taking awesome photos , Evy Power for the gorgeous hair & make-up, and my lovely assistant Morgan Kestner for all the “hustle”. Props to Samantha Rockman for keeping us all in line (we need that!) and athletes Sierra and Zachary for being so nice and easy to work with  – you rule! And I guess I styled this stuff.  The end..

Wish You Were Here. The Pink Motel

Image
Photos by me.  Except the one of Steve Olson and I (duh) that was taken by Ian Logan. The Pink Motel Pool Party was going off. Lots of rad skating, old friends, punk bands and some bad ass personal style. Seriously, what more do you really need on a Saturday night? Oh, and if you were following (@sportsstylist) on instagram you could have been seeing this shit live. Just sayin’.

Rock On Sister

Photo: Ian Logan You can sit around and wait to be “judged” by others, or you can live your life, do your thing, and be OK with who YOU are. It’s that simple.  Have a bitchin’ weekend!

Behind The Scenes

The Telluride Adenture - Athleta

Image
Photos by Lori Adamski Peek Styling by me OK the proverbial cat’s out of the bag. A few months ago when I was in Telluride, Colorado this is what I was working on (did you really think I was there playing??). Had an amazing shoot with the Athleta team, got to see some awesome places, and work with these athletic beauties – Drisana and Lauren. What’s not to love? Hopefully you all subscribe to the Athleta catalog so you can see the rest of the images – pretty cool stuff,  if I do say so myself.

Say What?
