You can also now check out the new “Girl is NOT a 4 Letter Word” Facebook page that gives you all the launch info, Vans Warped Tour dates, give-a-ways we have lined up  & more! Thanks as always to Dusters California , & Longboarding for Peace for making this board happen.  I am proud to say that a portion of the proceeds go to  GRO – (Girl Riders Organization) so girls can have a safe, fun, environment to learn action sports.

Bambi

A little behind the scenes action from Revolve and Bambi. I can’t ever seem to ever get enough of that girl. *sigh*

Rolling On....

The Wild Magazine / via Oracle Fox  I’m telling you – skateboards are the new fashion statement.  Here’s another recent spread from The Wild Magazine . But can we stop and just talk about that T-Shirt for a second? Yeah, that. I must have. On another note that I think most of you might be able to relate to ,  I woke up from a dream this morning that I somehow scored $2,200 leather pants in a awesome burgundy color, on sale for $50. When I realized it had only been a very vivid dream and not reality, I was pretty bummed. I never seem to be this lucky when shopping, but maybe its a sign? So I am stepping into Thursday with the attitude that today is my lucky day!  Have a great one!

Bryce Harper & Vegas

Image
Photos: Jay Michelfelder Remember when I flew off to Vegas right before Christmas but couldn’t say what shoot I was styling?  So here’s the scoop.  Yep, I got to spend the day shooting Major League baseball player Bryce Harper, for these awesome Under Armour ads. We were at cool gym to start our day with Bryce working out hard for a few hours, and ended up in the evening at the penthouse suite at The Palms Hotel doing the gorgeous underwear shots looking out above the Las Vegas strip. Pretty much an awesome shoot. I am a lucky girl. I just realized that every time I get sent to Vegas it’s always for baseball  shoots lately – weird right? Remember this one ?

Holy Chic!

tank top: Project Social / shorts: Siwy / belt: Calleen Cordero /  sandals:Pedro Garcia / bracelets: CC Skye Memorial Day weekend is finally here! I think we all feel like it signifies the “official” start to summer and who doesn’t love summer? I can’t think of anything better to do for the next 3 days than hanging at the beach, soaking up sun, kicking it with friends at night for a BBQ or two, and riding my vespa, bike or walking wherever I want to go instead of being in the car. Clothes? I plan on keeping it simple with shorts, a tank, a swimsuit underneath and some sandals. This look is one of my fav’s on rotation for the next few days. Hope you have a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend!

On Safari

Image
Photos: Sebastian Faena OK I’m not technically “on safari”, but I am on location most of this week, and I get to hang out at a remote, beautiful beach doing a pretty cool shoot – does that count?  This whole editorial spread by who else?  Carine Roitfeld, made me stop and look again and again. Something a lot of fashion images don’t make me do theses day. Kinda loving it.

Stay Cool

Bringing It Back

Image
Images via Teen Vogue / photos: Michael Hauptman Teen Vogue is killing it with this piece on the new Vans sneakers – featuring print patterns reissued from the 70, 80’s and 90’s. Can’t even tell you how classic the checkerboard print is to me from my skate days… P.S. I love that Teen Vogue fashion editor Gloria Baume’s daughter, Anita, is a skater! I think we need to hook her up with GRO (Girl Riders Organization) so she can have some rad skate adventures in NYC and meet other cool girls who skate.   I’m really seriously stoked to see so many girl out there skating nowadays. xx

Shoe Voyeur

One of my favorite things at the Vans Pool Party besides watching the guys rip it up, is to take photos of everyone’s Van’s shoes. Yes I am a voyeur, but you already knew that.

It's All About The GIRLS

Image
instagrams @ Sportsstylist    Follow me and see what else is up! I remember the days of wearing a boys wetsuit, it was ugly, solid black, thick and baggy , and so damn hard to move in –  but I was stoked to have something to keep me warm in the chilly water.  Forget that shit!  Cynthia Rowley’s new line of spring suits are all about, fit, function and color. Yep, this summer is all about the GIRLS!  Thank goodness…  Get yours HERE

Summer Lovin'

I woke up thinking about how I can’t wait for summer to get here and then Shopbop reinforced that luscious feeling with this new lookbook. I may be broke before the sun comes out here in LA!

Hanging at The Vans Pool Party

Image
Photos by: Ian Logan , Cindy Whitehead and “winners shots” by Ray Zimmerman An absolutely amazing day spent with old friends at the Vans Pool Party!  Nothing like seeing the boys you skated with back in the day battle it out in the masters division, kicking more ass than ever.  I’m thinking 40-50 is the new 20, because these guys were making it look easy.  In the masters, it was Chris Miller in 1st, Steve Caballaero in 2nd and Christian Hosoi in 3rd. The pro division rocked as well with Bucky Lasek coming in first, Pedro Barros 2nd and Rune Glifberg in 3rd. Another great thing about this skate event is that it brings all of us together again – getting to hang with my fellow female pro skaters from the early days,  watching Steve Van Doren make hot dogs on the grill, getting silly in front of the camera, teasing our pro boys, and just having a blast. That’s what skateboarding has always been about and this event always has that feeling from start to finish. Thank you to the awesome
