It's Not About Pretty

  Had a blast working on the new spring line for Orly Nails. It’s called MELROSE,  so working with fun jewelry from Tarina Tarantino and adding bright pops of color in wardrobe, and accessories made for a awesome day. I like mixing high/low when I style to get the right look – and when you are able to mix patterns and colors that’s even more fun and challenging.   Thanks to the great team at Orly for having me on this one!

Brent Lavett is the real deal. California boy, surfer, skater, hairdresser. The guy just “gets it” and totally knows his shit when it comes to hair. Stoked to see his new Lavett & Chin  sea salt spray now available  at J.Crew. Can’t wait to get some so when I’m traveling (aka  land locked)  I can recreate the beachy look that my hair has when I am here in Hermosa during the summer.  Radness. Get it HERE .

I discovered  Santal 26 Candles and Santal 33 perfume by Le Labo and it’s like a new obsessive relationship. I am spraying this scent everywhere, almost to the point of bathing in it. Yeah, that’s how much I love it. It’s an almost masculine , leather, woodsy scent which I am totally into.  I have to say that I am pretty enamored with their store in Venice which had a photo booth in it,  and the mini store they have inside Barneys is rockin’ too. But one of the best things about Le Labo is having the perfume mixed from scratch while I wait and then having “It’s Not About Pretty” printed on the labels and box’s of each item I had made – so damn awesome!!  

I was so inspired last night by USA swimmers Katie Ledecky (who is only 15!) and Missy Franklin that my manicurist and I decided to add a little USA pride to my nails this weekend. Seriously, who doesn’t love the Olympics?
