Sneaker Pimp

Image
photos via Daily Candy I’m thinking that my old Adidas hightops could use a little pimping up with these rad little Sneaker Crown accessories. Just throw them into the eyelet of your shoes and watch your sneakers be instantly transformed & updated in a small, but rad way. Because it’s not just your t-shirts that need accessorizing, right?  I think the lightening bolt pair will be mine very soon…

Weekender

Image
Photos by Jason Lee Parry Been on back to back shoots non stop these past 3 weeks and this lookbook from Planet Blue is getting me into “down time” mode.  This setting, clothing and sunshine is what I need to rejuvenate for a few days over Easter weekend.   xx

Sports Stylist - Behind The Scenes

Image
A little behind the scenes action from this past week of shoots – we had everything from running on the cliffs in Malibu at sunset, to pulling uniforms & gear together for a well know NFL player (can’t divulge “who” just yet) to shooting in a boxing gym – never a dull moment here! Hope you enjoy the snaps and please follow more of our adventures on Instagram at @sportsstylist

Boardwalk Empire

An amazing fashion spread in Teen Vogue this month. Boo George shot it and all I can say is I love these looks. A few skateboards thrown in kind of rounds it out in terms of perfection for me. Happy Monday!

Vroom Vroom

I’m majorly into drooling over this seasons new Rag & Bone looks. Love the dirt bike inspired styles, and colors – is that cropped long sleeve motocross tee not perfection?. I’m pretty sure I will be wearing all of these pieces to work just about every day. I love it when a designer makes getting dressed each morning so damn easy… And it’s all available on line at Shopbop – just click/charge/send – what I’m best at.

On Location With K-Swiss

Image
Gotta apologize as I have been a little slow on the blog posting this past week. But I have been crazy busy with shoots back to back and I can’t complain. Thought I’d share some fun “behind the scenes” shots from last weeks K-Swiss Tennis shoot in Palm Springs. I am always stoked to work with tennis greats like Mardy Fish, The Bryan Brothers, and Sam Querrey & I am honored year after year that I am invited to come along and style these shoots. Awesome people and a fun team. Can’t show you exactly what we were shooting (yet), but I can tell you we had a blast, got some insane shots, did a little “shooting by skateboard”,  and enjoyed the amazing sunshine in the desert for a few days. Life is GOOD. Thanks to K-Swiss and Dominic Cooley for having me along! As always it was rad to work with you guys.

Pachamama

Image
You’ve seen it in Vogue & other decadent editorial spreads numerous times, it’s been profiled in the book “Gypset Style” . And it still makes me drool when I walk through the doors. Pachamama in Sayulita, Mexico is absolutely one of my favorite stores in the world. It’s got that full on gypset vibe, and I could literally spend hours (or days) in there – and I kind of did. Not too mention that the  Mignot sisters (who own Pachamama) are French, gorgeous, and have the best taste ever. So it’s literally a no-brainier to want everything you see. Once again I added to my little collection of black pearl necklaces on leather cords – they just seem to work with everything, and the leather just looks better and better over time. My only regret was not buying that gorgeous gold fringe bag.  Oh well, it’s another excuse to get back to Sayulita very soon.

Game On

Image
photos: via studded hearts My rad friend Alana, informed me about this shoot from Grazia France – so perfect right now. I am literally working on 6 different shoots where I am styling tennis, running, football, basketball, and (it feels like) a million other sports the next 3 weeks. A little visual inspiration is never a bad thing. Now I just need some positive thoughts to keep me sane…

Listen Up Guys

Image
Via Red Bulletin Magazine / words by Ann Donahue / Photos Brian Bielmann If you are at any way into girls in action sports this article is a must read. To hear what the women in pro surfing are going through and to be brutally honest – how they are dicked around with their contests is just plain sad. I really appreciate Carissa Moore putting herself on the line to speak out and be honest about the great, the  good, and the bad in women’s pro surfing. We have a long way to go baby…

Packing Light

Image
Packing is hard – whoever said it wasn’t is a absolute liar. When I travel I like to try and keep with a “color story” if at all possible, as it makes it way easier to narrow down the shoe and accessory options. It also helps keep your suitcases in the “under 50 lb each” range, so you don’t get hit with that insane “over the weight limit” charge.  And believe me I have been there a few times in my life. It’s really not fun to be the crazy chick pulling shit out of one case and throwing it in another to get the weight to balance out before they will finally check your bags curbside at LAX…. I think the key is to try and pack with a color palette in mind so everything works well together. And the goal is to have it be a no brainer once you get to your destination. Things like a wrinkled dress (see above photo) shouldn’t ruin your evening,  just bring it into the bathroom with you when you take a steamy, hot shower and in a few minutes, no wrinkles. For this Sayulita trip it was all abo
