One last DIY saga for this year! I keep seeing these amazing tassel garlands on Pinterest and those crazy DIY blogs and the crazy blogger girls (once again) keep telling everyone how easy it all is, so fueled by eggnog and Christmas cookies, I decided to be led astray. Again.

At first it was almost fun. But you do notice I said “almost” right? You cut tissue until you are blue in the face then try to twist it to make those “loops” with out the tissue breaking apart on you. At this point you may be ready for the insane asylum. But the best part is when you get to use your hot glue gun to get the mylar tassels to twist and stay put. You guessed it! I hot glued 2 of my fingers together and that shit hurt like a bitch. But yet I kept on going. Although I did add rum to the eggnog to help with the pain. It must have helped, as I ended up making a Christmas garland (reds and greens) and the New Years version in various shades of gold and silver.

Of course later I found this amazing place on Etsy that makes them for probably less than I spent on materials, so either hit them up or the original maker of this tassel garland, Confetti Systems , and simply enjoy the finished product when it arrives in the mail! And then you won’t have your fingers glued together, which makes drinking rum & eggnog extremely difficult.
