The Smithsonian x Skateboarding

So honored to be asked to donate these items from my 70’s pro skateboard days to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History’s sports collection. WOW.  Never in a million years when I started skateboarding did I ever think I woudl be asked to be part of something so huge. Humbled to say the least.

 

I’m off to Washington, DC this morning to be part of the donation ceremony and to also speak about skateboarding x fashion at the Smithsonian’s Innoskate event on Saturday, June 22. If you happen to be in the DC area please come by – it’s going to be an amazing day with lots of skateboarding happening!

  I have to say, Agenda is my favorite trade show that I go to during the year. With it’s perfect mix of action sports x lifestyle it’s everything I love. I was great seeing brands like Art of Board (amazing what they are doing!), Ollo Clip (how sweet is that set up!?), Nixon, my old friend Jay Adams and Z-Flex, art work by the rad Craig Stecyk, and I have to share that everyone was talking about the black neoprene bikini by Tavik . Sexy! This year was even better than ever with the new WMN’s section of the show that was added. A lot of great brands that I know and love were grouped together for easy viewing and placing orders.  Nice to see younger companies like The Seea and Mint Clothing   at Agenda for their first time joining brands like Wildfox, Nasty Girl and more.. I always make time to go to Agenda to visit some of my existing clients, and also to see what’s new that might work for photo shoots or editorial pieces I have coming up in the next few months. Sometimes “work” is the same as pleasure in my book. Sending the day at the Agenda Trade Show was one of those days. Got to see a lot of old skater friends, friends in the fashion industry and people at various brands I am lucky enough to work with. Checked out some cool new stuff in the skate and surf industry and had a killer time at the Concrete Wave Magazine BBQ. Pretty much a rad Friday. Oh yeah and I got in a little surfing. lol Hope your weekend was awesome!

Wish You Were Here...

Wave check from my villa’s balcony in Sayulita, Mexico this week. Some weeks life is tough. Just rolled in from Sayulita, Mexico last night. Had a bitchin’ time and I have tons of cool stuff to post & share – from outfit posts, to beach & jungle locations to skateparks and rad boutiques. I tried to cover it all, which is hard when you are downing margaritas and eating amazing food all day, but hey, I somehow “managed”!
