Singer Solange Knowles is now an art director and creative consultant for the new PUMA Disc sneaker which launches February 2014. Excited to see the shoes when they launch!
I have to say, Agenda is my favorite trade show that I go to during the year. With it’s perfect mix of action sports x lifestyle it’s everything I love. I was great seeing brands like Art of Board (amazing what they are doing!), Ollo Clip (how sweet is that set up!?), Nixon, my old friend Jay Adams and Z-Flex, art work by the rad Craig Stecyk, and I have to share that everyone was talking about the black neoprene bikini by Tavik . Sexy! This year was even better than ever with the new WMN’s section of the show that was added. A lot of great brands that I know and love were grouped together for easy viewing and placing orders. Nice to see younger companies like The Seea and Mint Clothing at Agenda for their first time joining brands like Wildfox, Nasty Girl and more.. I always make time to go to Agenda to visit some of my existing clients, and also to see what’s new that might work for photo shoots or editorial pieces I have coming up in the next few months. I knew that boys always seemed to get to do the cooler stuff and wondered why not the girls too? So that’s what I did. I tagged along with every boy in my neighborhood whether they liked it or not. And I got to do “cool” stuff. Like building forts, learning to make bottle rockets, climbing the highest tree I could find, swimming waaaay out into the ocean in front of my house until we felt like we couldn’t see the houses on the shore, and of course, surfing and skateboarding. And during all of these adventures, I adapted what the boys all wore and gave it my own twist. And I still do. So now that I am an adult (am I really??), I am very proud to have been featured a couple of times one of my favorite blogs, TOMBOY STYLE. If you haven’t read Lizzie’s book or checked out her site – it is a MUST! In fact the quote in the photos abo
You’ve seen it in Vogue & other decadent editorial spreads numerous times, it’s been profiled in the book “Gypset Style” . And it still makes me drool when I walk through the doors. Pachamama in Sayulita, Mexico is absolutely one of my favorite stores in the world. It’s got that full on gypset vibe, and I could literally spend hours (or days) in there – and I kind of did. Not too mention that the Mignot sisters (who own Pachamama) are French, gorgeous, and have the best taste ever. So it’s literally a no-brainier to want everything you see. Once again I added to my little collection of black pearl necklaces on leather cords – they just seem to work with everything, and the leather just looks better and better over time. My only regret was not buying that gorgeous gold fringe bag. Oh well, it’s another excuse to get back to Sayulita very soon.
