Had a great 8 days working with Karena & Katrina from Tone It Up! Can’t share what we were working on just yet, but it’s going to be amazing. But seriously, what do these girls ever do that’s not 100% rad?

I really love it when I get booked on a project that involves pulling together looks across the board – layered boho lifestyle, going out looks, workout, and swim – it’s fun for me to plan it all out ahead of time an create 50+ different looks for the shoot days.  We had gorgeous weather  as you can see in the behind the scenes photos, LA was having a heat wave in November, so what could be better when shooting workout, swimwear & lifestyle in and around the beach area with 80 degree sunshine?  #spoiled

It was also super nice to work with such a fun, easy going crew on both of  the shoots. It was my first time working with the two photographers on the project, Nicole Hill and John Segesta – and I really loved each of their diverse styles and their calm, but fast way of shooting. I know the finished project is going to look awesome!

  I have to say, Agenda is my favorite trade show that I go to during the year. With it’s perfect mix of action sports x lifestyle it’s everything I love. I was great seeing brands like Art of Board (amazing what they are doing!), Ollo Clip (how sweet is that set up!?), Nixon, my old friend Jay Adams and Z-Flex, art work by the rad Craig Stecyk, and I have to share that everyone was talking about the black neoprene bikini by Tavik . Sexy! This year was even better than ever with the new WMN’s section of the show that was added. A lot of great brands that I know and love were grouped together for easy viewing and placing orders.  Nice to see younger companies like The Seea and Mint Clothing   at Agenda for their first time joining brands like Wildfox, Nasty Girl and more.. The Versastyle

all images via The Versastyle Sometimes you meet the coolest people when you least expect it… I was looking for blogs one day  that were not the “cookie cutter” fashion blogs I kept seeing everywhere – you know the ones – where the girls are wearing the exact same thing from blog to blog, and usually look like they are “trying too hard”. Ugh.  I luckily stumbled  across Annette from  The Versastyle  late one night, and I was hooked. Her sport x fashion posts that usually feature her wearing something rad that’s black or white, plus some insanely cool heels, inspired me. Little did I know that we’d start connecting via the internet and that 2 years down the road I’d eventually find myself at Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles talking and laughing about everything under the sun with this rad style maven. "Girl is NOT a 4 Letter Word" at TEDxYouth

My talk was on my experiences in  skateboarding, and what young girls (in general) can do to empower themselves in today’s world. I will be excited to share it with all of you when it comes out on the TEDx Youtube channel soon! HUGE thanks to my lovely friend & amazing make-up artist  Donna Gast , who graciously did my hair & make-up for this event. Donna works with me on many advertising shoots and flew back from another shoot just in time to help me out and make me feel beautiful – I really appreciated it!
