It's Not About Pretty

I had the absolute pleasure of working with photographer Tim Mantoani & the gang at EA Sports on this NFL Madden 15 cover with Madden winner, Richard Sherman. It was quite the night – the winner was announced in downtown LA at LA Live! during a press conference and then was whisked over to a photo studio where we were all waiting. News crews, & behind the scenes photographers rapidly filled the space to get a glimpse and interview with Richard. The shoot went smoothly and here is the final result!   I love seeing things that are a bit unexpected.  Like this guy carrying his surfboard across a busy downtown LA intersection . Had to sneak a shot with my iphone – it was too awesome not to.

The WMNS section rocked – it’s basically a show within a show – nice seeing a curated section of all the women’s apparel in one place, it really makes it easy to focus and take it all in. I was able to meet some great new apparel companies and reconnect with some I already work with – and I’m excited to be bring some of the new pieces I saw in on upcoming editorial and ad shoots in the near future. Rusty , Tavik , The Seea , Rad Nails , Puravida , Element Eden , Billabong Womens ,  Kovey , Spell & The Gypsy , Style Stalker , Tallow , & Wildfox , were all inspiring! Wonderful to see that one of my favorite snowboarders and Paralympic Bronze medalist,  Amy Purdy is doing a line with Element Eden this coming season.   Repost from Eva Chen’s Instagram   So stoked to have the raddest fashionista around, Eva Chen ,  Editor in Chief of Lucky Magazine trying out the Girl is NOT a 4 Letter Word board  . Eva mentioned she wanted to learn to skate, so let’s hope she throws on a pair of Vans (or perhaps Celine slip ons) and takes her new skateboard to the streets of NYC (and posts some rad pics!).  In the meantime I hear that Conde Nast has some pretty nice hallways to skate… Love the shout out she also gave to the non profit we are tied into –  Girl Riders Organization – if you don’t know GRO , please check them out. They do amazing things for women in skateboarding.
