Love Is All You Need

Image
It’s been another fun year of blogging, and my first few months with the new blog design and name. Thank you for sticking with me, and always clicking over to see what I have to post, share, or rant about each day. I have made some awesome new friends along the way, found a community of people I never would have had the opportunity to meet otherwise, and I have learned all kinds of fun stuff – like those crazy DIY’s!  I want you all to know that I really appreciate your support and friendship – it means a lot to me. I wish you all the best in the upcoming year, and here’s to 2013 being filled with rad adventures, lots of love and much success! Happy New Year! xx Cindy

Adventures With A Glue Gun

Image
photos ian logan One last DIY saga for this year! I keep seeing these amazing tassel garlands on Pinterest and those crazy DIY blogs and the crazy blogger girls (once again) keep telling everyone how easy it all is, so fueled by eggnog and Christmas cookies, I decided to be led astray. Again. At first it was almost fun. But you do notice I said “almost” right? You cut tissue until you are blue in the face then try to twist it to make those “loops” with out the tissue breaking apart on you. At this point you may be ready for the insane asylum. But the best part is when you get to use your hot glue gun to get the mylar tassels to twist and stay put. You guessed it! I hot glued 2 of my fingers together and that shit hurt like a bitch. But yet I kept on going. Although I did add rum to the eggnog to help with the pain. It must have helped, as I ended up making a Christmas garland (reds and greens) and the New Years version in various shades of gold and silver. ...

With all the chaos of the holidays, I pretty much have a “uniform” going on right now so I can get out the door fast and get all my shit done. I seem to be living in variations of the above. Some days it’s a “gray” story some days it’s “tan” or “charcoal” but it pretty much revolves around my Isabel Marant & Golden Goose boots & sneakers, (what did I ever do before they came into my life?), a pair of broken in jeans, some chunky jewelry from Pamela Love & CC Skye, an army jacket of some sort, a cashmere beanie+ scarf and one of my beat up Balenciaga bags.  It’s easy, comfy, warm and has kind of a relaxed feel, which I love. What has been your “go to” holiday uniform?

Time In A Bottle

A last minute Christmas DIY.  And the most amazing part was, this one was actually kinda fun and easy. I kid you not .  So here’s the scoop. And you know me – this is the real scoop not some bullshit Christmas story. I picked up some Mason jars at Michael’s (I will admit, part was a nightmare)  – make sure you get Mason jars not Ball jars as the mouth  of the jar is wider, so its easier to stuff your candy and toys into.  Oh Shit, I am totally sounding like one of those DIY bloggers. Shoot me now. Take the lids off and spray paint them white (or any other color you like).  Then put some  batting sprinkled with “snow glitter” in the bottom of the jar, then stuff the jars with candy and treats that you think that special person would like. I personally like to throw in skate stickers, tiny dinosaurs, balloons, mini ornaments, lip gloss and cool retro candies & gum. Although a few people got some “coal” in their jars too – hmmm...

Sexy Time DIY

Image
Here’s a DIY that is for once easier than you’d think. I think it’s technically called “Gold Glitter Candle”. But I am changing the name to “Sexy Time” as I think that will help my blog show up in Google faster. No drinking involved this time so you can save some money there. But as always there are pitfalls. So read on… Head on over to Michael’s and get yourself a small mason jar, a brush (a cheap one will do), some gold or silver glitter, a flameless candle (I’ll warn you about this item, I had to get FIVE before one worked!) and this bizarre shit called – Mod Podge. This is where you will be looking up and down the aisles for some “crafty” person’s help, because Mod Podge comes in like 10 flavors types. I kid you not. I don’t care what these crazy crafty ladies tell you, just get any old one in a small size. Because really, how many DIY’s are you going to do in this life time?? Exactly. ...

Hide & Seek

I was having a moment in the dressing room at Scoop in Bev Hills. Or maybe I was just hiding from the annoying salesperson. And yeah, it’s cold here – it’s like all of 58 degrees, that’s why I’m bundled up like it’s snowing or something. We LA peeps can’t do cold much. Or maybe it’s just an excuse to wear lots of layers. And furry vests… P.S. Look hard – that’s the Pamela Love Arrowhead ring on it’s very first outing. That thing can also double as a weapon.
